Dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt.
Pluto is now recognized as a dwarf planet, but it hasn’t lost its charm. It has a heart-shaped glacier, tall ice mountains, and a surprisingly complex surface for such a small world. Pluto orbits the Sun in 248 Earth years and rotates once every 6.4 Earth days. Its elliptical orbit occasionally brings it closer to the Sun than Neptune.
Did you know: Pluto’s largest moon, Charon, is so big relative to Pluto that they actually orbit each other, making them a binary system!
